The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force (Take Force) wishes to inform the community that it is expanding vaccinations for non-resident workers of establishments that primarily serve local residents the week of April 6th.
The Task Force is currently contacting owners of restaurants, groceries, gas stations, convenience stores, gyms/fitness training, and personal care/beauty salons to confirm names of employees who want to be vaccinated.
“Our main priority is ensuring that Kahnawa’kehró:non are vaccinated first, and we are working on getting non-resident employees of certain establishments vaccinated due to a higher risk of exposure as they primarily cater to local community members,” said Lloyd Phillips, Commissioner of Public Safety.
Prioritization for these specific establishments is required as the number of vaccines is limited.
If you are an owner of a business in any of the aforementioned categories and wish to have your non-resident employee prioritized for vaccination, please contact the Public Safety Division at 450-632-0635 by Thursday at 12pm. A member of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre Public Health team will contact only those who registered their non-resident employees with Public Safety.
