Public Service Announcement – Outpatient Care Re-opens

(Kahnawake – 24, Enniskó:wa/March 2020) The Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) wishes to inform the community that the Outpatient Care department (OPC) will re-open tomorrow, March 25, 2020. Following consultation with public health, we are assured that all safety precautions are in place in order to ensure both employee and public safety.

However, this will be in a restricted capacity with most visits done by phone with a doctor or a nurse. A limited number of patients will be brought in after a phone triage if they have more urgent issues that cannot be dealt with on the phone.

We encourage you to call KMHC with any pressing medical issues to reduce the strain on the Emergency Rooms, COVID-19 clinics, and Respiratory Clinics.

Clients who had their appointments canceled due to the closure should call and reschedule their appointments depending on their needs.

KMHC kindly reminds the community that all prior protocols and guidelines remain in place:

-Telephone screening
-Security screening upon arrival
-ABSOLUTELY no entry of any suspect cases
-Clients must call in advance to book an appointment
-No walk-ins
-No Pharmacy access from the main entrance

Please continue to follow all the safety precautions that are currently in place for our community. Stay vigilant and stay safe.
